This is a lovely, small bay on the southeast shore of the island of Vrgada. The shoreline is covered in thick woods, which enhance the beauty of the bay. It is shallow throughout the bay, so you should anchor somewhere in the middle, at a depth of 2 metres. There are rocks on the bed in several places, so watch out for them when dropping anchor. Otherwise the bed is sandy, with some patches of sea grass. There is a beach at the base of the bay, and a path leading to the village of Vrgada, about a kilometre away. It is a lovely spot to spend the night at anchor, unless the jugo is blowing. The bura from Pirovac also makes itself felt, but the bay is sheltered from the maestral and tramontana. If the jugo is up, you have several options. The easiest option is to sail around the island to Sveti Andrija Bay, but the better choice is to move to the lee of the island of Murter. There are two large marinas there, and room to anchor throughout Murter Bay. As you sail into Kranje Bay, watch out for the many tuna cages on the southwest side of Vrgada, and the shallows (4.6m) northeast of Kranje Point.
