A very pretty, quiet bay on the southwest shore of the island, about three miles from its southeast point, Žinčena is less frequented than other popular anchorages in the area, so there is usually room here when other bays are full of yachts. Both arms are surrounded by thick evergreen forests and undergrowth. The west end is uninhabited, while there are a few houses in the north section, with little jetties in front. The high peninsula of Zaglav, just west of the bay, makes a good orientation point as you sail in, and also provides shelter from W and NW winds. The bay is well sheltered from the bura, but not from the jugo. The bed is sandy, silty in places, mostly covered in sea grass, providing good purchase. The middle of the west arm is only 2.5 metres deep, and the final 200 metres to the shore are very shallow, while the depth in the north arm is around 5 metres. The middle section of the outer part of the bay is around 10 metres deep. Lanđin, its neighbour to the east, is slightly larger than Žinčena. The bays are separated by a peninsula and isthmus where olive groves have been planted. There are quite a few houses in the bay, most only occupied in the summer months, so it is not as idyllic as Žinčena. There are jetties in front of the houses. The bay is well sheltered from winds from the 1st, 3rd and 4th quadrants, but exposed to the jugo. The waves of the jugo are somewhat tempered by the islands of Košara and Žižanj, which are a mile and two miles from the bay, respectively. The little island of Lanđinić, just south of the south point, also provides some protection. The depth between Lanđinić and the shore is 1.8 metres. During the jugo, the best shelter in the bay is in the west arm. Buoys have been placed here, improving safety for those who decide to moor to them during the jugo. The middle of the bay is between 9 and 10 metres deep, reducing to around 4 metres 200 metres from the shoreline between the west and north arms. The bed is sandy, mostly covered in sea grass, providing good purchase for the anchor if required. There are beaches at the bases of both arms. Like Žinčena, Lanđin is surrounded by evergreen forests and undergrowth.
