These two bays are just north of Kamenjak Point, protected from all winds except the bura. They naturally belong to Premantura, the most southerly village in Istria, but it is a good two kilometres to the nearest house. Although they are quiet and have not been built up, they fill up in summer with bathers who arrive by car. Both provide good anchorage, with sandy beds, at a depth of 4 metres in Debeljak and just over 6 metres in Portić. There are many more boats during the day than at night. Portić is more popular, and there can be fifty yachts at anchor here at once. I have stopped here many times and always enjoyed it. One September I tried catching squid just south of Kamenjak Point, and had some success. As evening approaches, most of the boats leave and it is much quieter. If you decide to stay the night, you could try walking to Premantura. The old part of the village is like something from a fairytale, but one could hardly say the same of the new part. Visit Kamenjak House of Nature, an educational centre, where you can learn about the biodiversity of the Premantura peninsula.
