Like all bays and large marinas close to the mainland, this bay changes its character, depending on the time of day. During the day, Tijašćica is full of yachts and boats visiting from marinas and harbours nearby, such as Tribunj, Vodice, Prvić and Zlarin, and even Šibenik. It gets busy and noisy, with children jumping from boats into the sea and swimming around. But at night, no matter how many boats remain at anchor, there is peace and quiet, because Tijašćica is uninhabited, and there are only a few holiday homes at the very base of the bay. So the atmosphere is rather like on the islands miles away from the mainland. The bay is sheltered from all winds except the jugo, and extends almost a kilometre inland, so there is plenty of room for boats. It is quite deep at the entrance, over 20 metres, so you should anchor towards the base, or drop anchor towards the middle and take a rope to the shore. The bed at the base is rocky, but sandy elsewhere, covered in sea grass in places. If the jugo is blowing hard, you will find little shelter nearby, if you intend to stay at anchor. On Zmajana, the next uninhabited island, you can find shelter in theory in Bok or Zakloščica coves, but there is only room for one or two boats in each. So it is better to sail to Zlarin, two and half miles away. There is plenty of room in this large harbour. Most moorings are on the north side of the long jetty, but you can also drop anchor. You need to take the traffic into account, because this is a busy harbour, and passenger boats ply back and forth several times a day. Do not get in their way. If you decide to anchor here during the jugo, do so by the northeast point, in the sandy bed. You will already be close to the small island village, so go for a walk in its narrow streets, or wait for the fishermen to return with their morning catch.
