Although on the mainland, this bay is rather like those on the islands. The road passes at a distance of only 200 metres, but it is concealed from view, and you will neither see nor hear any cars. There are little paths leading to the houses in the bay, laid by their owners. There are several old houses along the shore, which used to belong to the inhabitants of the village of Banići, and some newer buildings. In one of the houses in the eastern arm, there is a restaurant, which only opens during the three summer months. There is a little landing area in front, so if you want, you can anchor and tie up stern to shore. Janska has three arms and is exposed to SW winds. Anchor in the silty bed, partially covered in sea grass, at a depth of between 5 and 15 metres. There is relatively good purchase. During summer maestrals, you should seek shelter in the north arm. The bura can blow quite hard, but it does not create waves. Normally, even at the height of the season, you will only find the odd yachtsman sitting at anchor. Half a mile northwest is Budima Bay, with one of the best pebble beaches in the area. You can anchor there, except during the jugo or maestral.
