One of the best, most popular anchorages on this island, providing good shelter from W, S and NE winds. As you sail in, watch out for the shallows in front of the points protecting the bay. There are about 30 buoys in the bay, and as a rule, you will be able to find a free one. The western arm, which is shallower, provides better shelter. You can also anchor in the middle of the bay, at a depth of between 5 and 8 metres. The bed is sand and silt and provides good purchase. The bay got its name from the pre-Romanesque Church of St. Anthony, in front of which there is a haven reserved for local boats. There is a statue of St. Anthony of Padua in front of the church, by the monk and sculptor Jaki Gregov, who roots were on this island. Most of the houses are in the eastern section, with a few in the western section. But there are only about twenty altogether, so you will enjoy peace and quiet.
