If you decide to anchor or use one of the twenty or so buoys placed along the west and east shores of this completely exposed bay between the islands of Ugljan and Pašman, there will be a lot of sailing traffic passing constantly. The passage through Ždrelac and Mali Ždrelac is used by sailors with a mast height of up to 16.5 metres above sea level, sailing from Zadar, Sukošan, Biograd and the smaller towns on the north shores of the two islands, heading out towards the Kornati islands and Dugi Otok. At dusk, as they are joined by fishing boats from Kali, you will see all kinds of vessels passing under the bridge joining Ugljan and Pašman. At night, there is hardly any traffic under the bridge. Nonetheless, you will be safe at anchor along the edges of this shallow bay (maximum depth 5 metres). On the Pašman side, there are many holiday homes with jetties and havens, while the Ugljan side is less built up. There are only a few houses and the little church of Our Lady of the Snows, on the northeast point. If you happen to be here on 5 August, the local feast day, you will be able to watch a procession of boats from Kukljica. A new, large waterfront has been built there recently. Anchoring is not allowed in the middle of the bay, which is a navigation channel.
