If your mast allows you to sail under the bridge at Ždrelac, you will emerge along the south shore of Pašman, where there are several lovely places to anchor. The best known are six miles further on. But before we reach Sveti Ante, we will pass three smaller bays, Čelinja, Vržišće and Kobiljak. They are not as deep or sheltered as the more distant bays, but you will find room to anchor in any of them, particularly Kobiljak. You will be exposed to the wind and the waves, but at least you will enjoy some privacy. These bays are virtually uninhabited, apart from the odd house on the shore. In Ćelinja, smaller boats will find shelter from the maestral and tramontana at anchor in the sandy bed, at a depth of between 3 and 4 metres, but will be exposed to the jugo. Vržišće offers no more protection, although it is larger and deeper, because it is exposed to the maestral and jugo. The bed here is also sandy. The largest of the three bays, Kobiljak, extends about 300 metres inland, and provides fairly good shelter from most winds, except of the course the maestral. Here you can anchor at a depth of between 4 and 10 metres, in the sandy bed. There are several holiday homes on the east shore, with little jetties in front, and perhaps there might be a tavern here one day. Changes in the weather will not catch you out far from your boat, since these bays are so deep in the wilds of the south shore of the island that there are no paths and nowhere to go.
