This is a well-protected bay, particularly the north arm, exposed only to the high waves of the jugo. Like its neighbour, Sveta Fuska, it is the bay for Pinezići, a village a kilometre inland, and if you want to shop or enjoy a meal, you can easily walk there along the metalled road. In the north arm, where it is shallow, there are two stone jetties and a waterfront, occupied by local boats belonging to the inhabitants of Pinezići and Škrbčići. There are only two houses in the bay. The dense woods and undergrowth stretch down to the sea, and there are small beaches in both arms. During the day, many excursion boats from Krk visit Torkul, but if you stay overnight, it will be peaceful and quiet. You can anchor in the sandy bed in the middle of the bay, where the depths are between 5 and 10 metres, or in the middle of the rocky east shoreline where you can tie up stern to shore. This is also a good spot to bathe. Half a mile to the east is Sveta Fuška Bay, which is similar, but occupied by local boats, so it is difficult to find a place to drop anchor.
