Levrnaka and Lojena

Levrnaka and Lojena

On Levrnaka there are two bays. The bay on the north side, which bears the same name as the island, is the main landing point. It is pretty deep, even by the shore, so you will see large, 30-metre yachts here, and many tie up stern to shore on the south shore. The floor is sandy and the anchor holds well. The maximum depth is just over 20 metres. On the north shore, there are some buoys, placed by the national park authorities (they disappeared for a while, but are back). There are also two piers. One is at the base of the bay, in front of Levrnaka restaurant (where there are also moorings, if you do not have an anchor), and the other is private, used by Edo and Miro Ježina, of Antonio’s tavern. These are the two places you can go to spend the evening in Levrnaka. The restaurant is fancier, while Antonio’s is simpler. There is another bay on the south side of the island, Lojena (the same name as the bay on Smokvica). It has a small, white beach, and is a pleasant place to anchor during the day. However, there are rumours that the island is overrun with rodents, which could inflict huge damage if they got aboard. We have never seen them, but better safe than sorry.
