This is one of the most remarkable Adriatic sailing destinations. The small lagoon on the southeast shore of Drvenik, sheltered by two small islands, Krknjaš Veli and Krknjaš Mali, is particularly beautiful, and especially photogenic. I have been here in early spring and late autumn, as well as in the high summer season, and anchoring here is always a special pleasure. I have also viewed it from the air many times. Then you can really enjoy the clearness of the sea and the beauties of the shallow lagoon, which seems to have been created for swimming and scuba-diving. So during the day, there are always plenty of boats and bathers, mostly from Trogir. There is an excellent restaurant, Krknjaši, run by the famous fisherman, Ivica Spika Komunist, and his wife Dragica, where you can enjoy a good meal with fine wine. In the evening, the lagoon quietens down. Most boats sail on to the nearby marinas, and only a few remain at anchor. The passage between Drvenik and Krknjaš Mali is very shallow, and between Veliki and Mali Krknjaš is only between 2 and 2.5 metres, so it is safest to sail in from the south. The bed in the shallow part is mostly sandy, and the depth is between 6 and 7 metres, while the deeper part is covered in sea grass, which provides reasonable purchase. The bay is best sheltered from W winds and the bura, particularly if you drop anchor in the northwest section. It is not a good place to stay during S and SW winds.
