If Jurjeva Harbour is very busy, you only need to sail 500 metres south into Kremena Bay, where you should drop anchor from the prow, and use stern ropes to tie up to the ancient pines. The best spot is by the north shore. Many people prefer Kremena to Jurjeva, including me. It is somehow more open, a better place to bathe, and as the boats are lined up along the shore, you will be less disturbed by other visitors. I sometimes stay here for three or four days at a time, and enjoy the opportunity to relax completely. You can swim, fish, sleep, visit Veli Lago in the dinghy, and eat dinner under the pines, which seem to extend their branches right over the cockpit. The middle of the bay is deep, between 15 and 35 metres, and the bed is sandy and covered in sea grass, so you need to let down sufficient anchor chain. It is sheltered from all winds except a strong bura, but even then, with a good anchor, it is safe to stay. The former army has left its mark here, too. At the base of the bay there is a large tunnel, used to house torpedo boats and submarines. It is worth taking the dinghy there and seeing how money used to be wasted.
